Employee Benefits

For physician assistants who work for CPAS, Inc. more than 32 hours per week, We offer a full range of employee benefits. We are a young company, but one that is committed to providing PAs with a comprehensive benefits program that is above average in its offerings and scope. We will continue to find ways to reinvest in our PAs to improve our benefits.

If you work for CPAS, Inc. for less than 32 hours per week, you are not eligible for benefits. All physician assistant employees of CPAS, Inc. are considered "non-exempt" employees and are eligible for overtime. We opt for "alternate" work schedules at CPAS, Inc., and the standard week is four 10 hour days per week. Overtime is paid beyond ten hours per day or 40 hours per week. When practice schedules require staffing for Holidays recognized by CPAS, Inc., our contracts will stipulate a premium reimbursement rate and employees will be reimbursed for Holiday pay in addition to their regular hourly rate.

It is the intent of CPAS, Inc. to have on-call services available to a variety of practices, beginning with occupational medicine practices. On-call time will be reimbursed by the hours as well as the patient encounter.

Each full time PA is eligible for $500 per month in benefits, with additional benefit costs to be paid by the employee.

Health Insurance

A flexible choice of health insurance plans will be available to employees and their families.

Paid Time Off

For all employees working 32 or more hours per week, paid time off will accrue at a rate of x.xx hour for each hour worked.This amounts to up to 21 paid days off for new employees, increasing every five years of seniority, five additional paid days. This time includes vacation, sick and CME time. You can use your PTO any way that you want. Vacation is important. PTO time accrued will be required to be utilized within 18 months of accrual.

Dental / Vision

Dental and vision insurance will be available as part of a comprehensive benefit package.

Retirement

Full time employees are entitled to participate in the CPAS, Inc. Simple IRA retirement plan. CPAS, Inc. matches employee contributions dollar-for-dollar up to 3% of income.

Disability Insurance

Disability insurance is mandatory at CPAS, Inc. for full time employees. Our group plan will be long term in nature and will protect your and your family in event that you are unable to work.

Holidays

Holidays formally recognized by CPAS, Inc. include New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Professional Associations / License

Membership in the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the California Academy of Physician Assistants (CAPA) is mandatory for full time physician assistant employees and paid by CPAS, Inc. California license fees and National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA) fees are also paid by CPAS, Inc. for full time employees.

Continuing Medical Education

For full time physician assistant employees $1,500 is available annually for continuing medical education after one full year of full time employment at CPAS, Inc.
